Just been playing with Work’s new X-rite ColorMunki on my iMac and 24″ BENQ connected to my PC. So far I got to say I like it. I makes up for what seems like all most all the short comings of the Display One while not limited the user in too heavily. I like how it can use ambient light readings to chose a suitable brightness for the display.

However personally I found its love for low values of 80 cd/m2 to be just way to low. After a little reading it seems fooling it with a desktop lamp to “simulate” viewing conditions as posed to working conditions allow me to set the brightness higher then limited 80 to 140 that’s only present from the main screen. Tomorrow it will be test chart building time for the two Epson Stylus Pro 4800.

For $600 this device will profile screens, printers and projectors.

Digital retouching in Photoshop can often be a challenging task but the results can be most rewarding. I do sometimes get frustrated with having to fix common mistakes that could have been easily avoided during the photo shoot. However attempting to improve an image without making it look blatantly obvious is a fun and challenging task when trying to stick to deadlines.

I don’t want to spend hours toying over some smaller detail when I’ve probably got to make the same correction on 20 more images. I’d like to think I’m rather competent in Photoshop but Nothing is more depressing then seeing the skills of a professional retouches, bodies are re-sculpted to look like mythical gods while skin tones are made smooth like silk. However that depression quickly passes as one’s mind springs to life, formulating ideas for ways to reduce the size of a model’s derriere.

I HATE SNAKES

I just upgraded my PC, I now have a p4 3 GHz with a 800mhz FSB, 1gig of RAM and a sexy new box. Now with so much more power I needed some thing to test out on it. Some may pick a classic Photoshop benchmarking session however I think a new game is what the doctor ordered. So what did I pick? Well why not more SNAKE?! That’s right I bought Metal Gear Solid 2. 7gigs of pure stealth, butt kicking, Solid Snake goodness.
