I’m really liken the silly trophies that can be unlock in the new God of war Collection for the PlayStation 3. Take for example: “Zero Health = Bronze Trophy (Bronze) Open a Health Chest when your health meter is already full”. Lets not forget this pop culture references to the movie Back to the Future: “1.21 Gigawatts (Bronze) Acquire Poseidon’s Rage”.

Screengrab was a new media arts exhibition at the new eMerge Media Space at James Cook University’s School of Creative Arts. Showcasing screen-based media from all over the world, it represented the final shortlist for the New Media Art Award and the Focal Press Tertiary Arts Prize. From a pool of over 100 artists, 20 works were selected for the New Media Arts prize shortlist and the associated Screengrab exhibition. Photos after the break.

Two week ago I had an overwhelming want to own a PSP start to consume my every thought. A week latter and the urge no less then before, I decide it was best to relive this need by giving in an purchasing a PSP. The rather large out lay of crash was far more then I’d ever consider paying on any hand held gadget, I felt confident that soft modding it would be an easy and money saving justification.

After three long days of battling the flu (witch still now lingers in my body) I have finally completed grading the first assignments. Come the end of the ordeal I think I was starting to see things thanks to the high temperatures of my illness. Hopefully no one was rewarded a mark that was too harsh or too embellishing of what they should have gotten.

At the start of last week I start my new job tutoring out at the university. I tutor first year students enrolled in Pt1110 Introduction to Digital Imaging. The subject is open to all students at the university not just photography students. This means there are people of varying degrees of skill. So far they all seem keen and baring some token “trouble makers” they all seem great and eager to learn.

Digital retouching in Photoshop can often be a challenging task but the results can be most rewarding. I do sometimes get frustrated with having to fix common mistakes that could have been easily avoided during the photo shoot. However attempting to improve an image without making it look blatantly obvious is a fun and challenging task when trying to stick to deadlines.

Star Trek: Bridge Commander maybe a bit of a hit and miss for some (the words Star Trek Turing even the hardcore of sci-fi fans off) however the game has a lot to offer despite some of it’s short comings. Playing the role of Captain in a Galaxy classed stair ship the player must uncover a secret plot to destroy the Federation. While not an original plot the games strong points lay in its game play. As the caption of your ship you can issues orders to your crew members or directly take on their rolls manually, oversee all major operations of your vessel.
