I have no plans to play many, if at all any games on my mac now that steam is out. However I’m still very excited about the news. While Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo take over gaming in the console world, valve on the other hand is making some very smart moves in the desktop world. Just like steam when it first came out on pc, steam on mac has very little in the way of games (but it does have free Portal). Steam for me has gone from being a irritation, back in the days of half life 2 on dial up, to one damn good reason to turn my back on retail store and deduce my piracy to zero.

Just got up from my 6:30 alarm for work. However I’m jumping back into bed as its cold and all I wanted to do was check out steam for mac. Out of my 185 steam games 12 work for mac. Got to download portal and torchlight

Just been playing with Work’s new X-rite ColorMunki on my iMac and 24″ BENQ connected to my PC. So far I got to say I like it. I makes up for what seems like all most all the short comings of the Display One while not limited the user in too heavily. I like how it can use ambient light readings to chose a suitable brightness for the display.

With each new ending ones adds a new layer of armor. One grows a little stronger. Now with each new beginning one has another layer that has to be lowered before the other get to see the real person inside.
I’m sorry that distance came between us Sophie, there was so much I wanted to see and do with you. May you find that spark that ignites you in all endeavors of your life. All the best my friend.

Took some test photos out side my house of works Canon 20d modifered for dedicated infrared photography. The fun part is tweaking them in photoshop. I used a combination of curves correction layers with layer marks to isolate parts of the photo I wanted to increases contrast in. Giving the sky, trees and grass their own correction layer and mask allows a lot of tone to be “unlocked” just by manipulating the curve. Check out the photos after the break.

As of late I’ve all ways reviled in the knowledge that a movie at the cinema is presented on 35mm film. What with movies now days so heavily relying on digital production and or capture it’s kind of personal things known that I’m not only about to watch my first digitally projected movie, but one that’s presented in 3D.
