Two week ago I had an overwhelming want to own a PSP start to consume my every thought. A week latter and the urge no less then before, I decide it was best to relive this need by giving in an purchasing a PSP. The rather large out lay of crash was far more then I’d ever consider paying on any hand held gadget, I felt confident that soft modding it would be an easy and money saving justification.
Two long nights latter and I was able to “easily” and safely soft mod my PSP. It was bit of a steep learning curve as I was trying to install Dark_AleX 2.71 Custom Firmware Revision A that had only just come out that night. Most information I found was tailored to users who where still using or had downgraded to the 1.50 firmware.
My PSP had the 2.50 firmware, after trolling the internet it finely clicked that Dark_AleX Custom Firmware only installed on version 1.50. So after install the official 2.71 firmeware from Sony I then used Dark_AleX 2.71 Downgrader, in conjunction with hen C, I was able to downgrade to 1.50. After that it was a simple case of using the tools that came with Custom Firmware to “upgrade” to Dark_AleX’s 2.71 firmware.
Ones that was all done it still took me another night to finally get device hook to load ISO of the Memory Stick and via the USB.
