SCUMM UNDER THE WINDOWS!!

SCUMM stands for Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion and is a scripting language developed at LucasArts (known at the time as Lucasfilm Games) to ease development of the graphical adventure game Maniac Mansion.

ScummVM is an interpreter for games that use the SCUMM engine and runs under windows, Amiga, Linux, Mac, BeOS to name just some of the supported systems. So far only a thew games work and not many of them can be finished due to bugs however it’s erly days and it does give some hope that some time in the next thew years we will be able to play all the old classics on al most any system.

Fm-Towns a Japanese PC variant, built by Fujitsu from February 1989 to the Summer of 1997 started as a proprietary system intended for multimedia applications and computer games, but later became more compatible with regular PCs. Lucasfilm and Zak McKracken Fans may happy to know that Zak McKracken was ported to the system. Instead of been a straight port the game’s graphics where redone in 256 colours as apposed to the original 16 colours in the pc. The Best news is the Fm-Towns version of Zak McKracken can all so be played via ScummVM.
