AKIRA DVD

I borrowed Akira Special edition DVD of a friend and I must say the new English dub is very nice and is very true to the original Japans voices track. For example names such as Akira and Kaneda are pronounced the same is they are in Japanese.

Much work has done in restoring the footage so that all the dirt and hair has been removed. Some darker scenes still have sings of small dust and dirt however as a whole its visuals look better than ever and should make for a good replacement for ones ageing VHS copies.

I was rather disappointed with the absences of the second DVD. In the months leading up to sale of the DVD here in Australia Madman Entertainment was advertising the two disc set.

Unlike the US Pioneer relaces the region 4 (Aus) DVD does not come with the second disc witch is a very big let down.
